All-round cooperation with Vietnam remains one of Belarus' priorities

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – All-round cooperation with Vietnam remains to be one of the priorities of the Belarusian foreign policy, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov said at the solemn event on 31 August to mark Independence Day of Vietnam, BelTA has learnt.

The official stressed the importance of high-level contacts between Belarus and Vietnam. Bilateral agreements help develop all-round relations: in the political, economic, investment, sci-tech and educational sectors. The parties also develop inter-parliamentary contacts and establish interregional relations.

“We follow closely the sustainable economic growth of Vietnam and are happy for the country’s successes in addressing economic tasks, peace maintenance and stability in the country,” Valentin Rybakov said.

According to him, the similarity of positions of Belarus and Vietnam on many issues, including those on the international agenda, creates a solid foundation for fruitful bilateral cooperation.

Valentin Rybakov expressed confidence that in the future the Belarusian-Vietnamese ties will be strengthened for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

In turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Belarus Do Van Mai stressed that for 68 years of independence his country has made great strides in the economic development and people's life as a result of the policy of modernization.

The diplomat also praised the level of all-round cooperation with friendly Belarus. He said Vietnam intends to strengthen the mutually beneficial relations with Belarus and to expand trade and economic ties. Vietnam will do its utmost to bring the trade with Belarus to a higher level, Do Van Mai said.
