Belarus restricts rawhide exports

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus introduces a temporary ban on the exports of rawhides (code 4101 of the unified foreign economic activity commodity nomenclature of the Customs Union) from 15 January to 15 July 2014, BelTA has learnt. The move was approved by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.8 of 9 January 2014 “Concerning temporary restrictions to the export of rawhides from the territory of the Republic of Belarus”. The document was officially published on the national legal web portal on 12 January.

The ban is imposed in line with Article 8 of the agreement signed on 9 June 2009 on the introduction and application of measures related to foreign trade in goods on the united customs area in respect to third countries.

The Foreign Ministry of Belarus has been authorized to inform the Eurasian Economic Commission on the introduction of the temporary ban and submit for its consideration proposals on the application of the relevant measures by the other Customs Union member states.
