Union State MPs to discuss role of mass media in combating geopolitical threats

MOSCOW (BelTA) – The role of mass media in combating modern-day information and geopolitical threats in Belarus and Russia will be discussed at a session of the information policy commission of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly in Moscow on 28-29 October, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The MPs will discuss matters related to publishing activities financed by the Union State budget in 2013-2014 and the execution of the Mass Media section of the Union State budget in 2014.

The MPs will meet with senior executives and journalists of the Soyuznoye Veche newspaper and the Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house.

Taking part in the events will be the Union State MPs, members of the Union State Permanent Committee and the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly, editors-in-chief of the Union State mass media outlets and representatives of the Information Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia.
