Davydko: UN does not fulfill its function as an efficient decision maker

MINSK (BelTA) – The United Nations Organization does not fulfill its function as an efficient platform for taking up important decisions, Chairman of the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus Gennady Davydko said during the TV show Club of Editors on the Belarus One TV channel on 1 November, BelTA informs.

“The UN has been recently seen displaced somehow. It is not a platform for adopting decisions. For instance, the peace in Ukraine whatever shaky it can be is more an achievement of Alexander Lukashenko than that of the United Nations. Although it seems that the UN should have been the first to search solution to the Ukrainian issue. We respect the UN. But at the same time we, as one of the organization's founders, have the right to criticize it,” stressed Gennady Davydko.

He also expressed regret that “no new authorities emerge in the modern world, while the old ones are destroyed.”
