Belarus' CEC finalizes presidential election results

MINSK (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission of Belarus released the final results of the latest Belarus president election on 16 October, BelTA has learned.

As many as 201,945 voters (3.3%) cast ballots in favor of Sergei Gaidukevich. Tatiana Korotkevich won 271,426 votes (4.44%), Alexander Lukashenko — 5,102,478 votes (83.47%), Nikolai Ulakhovich — 102,131 (1.67%). The option None of the Above attracted about 386,200 people while about 48,800 ballot papers were invalidated.

Over 7 million people were on the voters' list. On the election day the list was revised to add about 16,700 people. About 6.1 million people (87.22%) went to the polls, including over 2.5 million people opting for early voting. Over 3.1 million voters came to the polls on the main ballot day.
