Lukashenko: Belarus will overcome economic woes, preserve peace

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus will overcome its economic woes, preserving peace in the country, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as spoke to the workers of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) on 7 April, BelTA has learned.

The head of state stressed that he would guarantee security and peace in Belarus. “Economy is our main problem today. If we live through these difficult times, and they will be over sooner or later, we will then be afraid of nothing. We will overcome it. We are strong people,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the President, when there is a war in the country, people do not talk about salaries or pensions. They need peace.

“We are not going to fight anyone. We will not do it. We are not going to set anyone against us. We are not going to attack anyone,” said Alexander Lukashenko. He added that Belarus has modernized its Armed Forces and is ready to provide an immediate response to any threats from outside.
