Belarus president to address parliament, nation in April
MINSK (BelTA) – A joint session of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus will take place in April in order to hear out the Belarus president's annual address to the nation and the parliament. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement during the opening ceremony of the eleventh session on 4 April, BelTA has learned.
“The session is supposed to take place in the Oval Hall of the Government House in April 2016. The date and the time will be disclosed later,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
The senator also pointed out that in accordance with the Constitution one session per month is reserved for the questions members of both chambers of the Belarus parliament may ask from the government. With this in mind the heads of the chambers of the parliament and the prime minister have approved a schedule for top public servants to take part in joint sessions of the parliament's chambers in 2016. The dates for the sessions will be disclosed later.
According to the source, during such sessions members of the Belarusian parliament can directly ask questions from vice premiers, ministers in order to get answers on topical matters.
