Belarus ready to join efforts with EU, USA to protect stability, security in region

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to join efforts with the EU and the USA to protect stability and security in the region, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he accepted the credentials of foreign ambassadors on 25 January, BelTA has learned.

Belarus is known for doing its best to protect stability and security in the region, the Belarusian head of state noted. “It is good that the European Union and the United States of America have looked into our peaceful policy, analyzed it in detail, and concluded that it is essential not only to cooperate with Belarus but also to use Belarus for maintaining peace and accord in the region. We are ready to work in this field,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Addressing the ambassadors, the head of state remarked that Belarus will create the most favorable conditions for their diplomatic work in the country. “It is very important for you to find new opportunities and, perhaps, new formats of mutually beneficial cooperation, fill our joint work with constructive ideas when you are here,” the Belarusian leader said.

“I am convinced that our dialogue with the states you represent will be vigorously developing on the basis of mutual understanding, partnership, and friendship,” Alexander Lukashenko underlined.

He stressed that the year 2016 has been announced that Year of Culture in Belarus; therefore, the country will host numerous cultural events this year. The President expressed hope that the diplomats will be able to learn more about Belarus, its nature, climate, cultural legacy, and history.
