Kobyakov: Union State government session will promote Belarus-Russia economic relations

MOGILEV (BelTA) – I hope the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State will promote the development of trade and economic relations between Belarus and Russia, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said when speaking at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev. The meeting precedes a session of the Union State Council of Ministers, BelTA has learned.

“We hope that we will have a fruitful day, and this will contribute to the further development of our trade and economic relations,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

He stressed that Mogilev, which is playing host to the meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers, is a landmark city in the history of Belarus and Russia. “Mogilev is a landmark city not only from the point of view of historical events. Today Mogilev is one of the flagships of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation: it is the venue of many projects, both by Belarusian and Russian entities. We are happy that you supported our proposal to hold the meeting in Mogilev,” Andrei Kobyakov noted.

The agenda of the meeting includes 27 issues. The main block is about trade and economic cooperation. The meeting will discuss the action plan to establish additional conditions for the development of trade and economic cooperation, the medium-term socio-economic development forecast of the Union State, and will consider the supply and demand forecasts for essential products in 2016.

The participants to the meeting will review the scientific and technical programs of the Union State “Development and creation of new-generation micro-system engineering and dual-use integrated systems for 2010-2014 and will consider the draft concepts of some five-year programs.
