Belarus marks one year since president’s inauguration ceremony

BelTA) – Aleksandr Lukashenko assumed the office of President of Belarus one year ago. The inauguration ceremony took place in the Ceremonial Hall, the largest hall in the Independence Palace, BelTA reports.
More than 1,100 people were invited to the ceremony. Symbolically, the route of the president's motorcade, accompanied by a motorcycle escort, ran along Minsk’s two main avenues – Independence Avenue and Pobeditelei Avenue.
During the inauguration, placing his right hand on the Constitution, Aleksandr Lukashenko recited the oath in the Belarusian language: "Assuming the office of President of the Republic of Belarus, I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of the Republic of Belarus, to respect and protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to uphold and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, and to sacredly and conscientiously fulfill the high duties entrusted upon me."
Then the State Anthem of Belarus was performed, after which the president signed the act of taking the oath. The chairman of the Central Election Commission presented Aleksandr Lukashenko with the certificate of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Following the election of 26 January 2025, Aleksandr Lukashenko was elected President of the Republic of Belarus. A total of 5,136,293 votes were cast in his favor, accounting for 86.82 % of citizens who participated in the voting.
