Nationwide community clean-up day in progress in Belarus

MINSK ( BelTA) – A nationwide community clean-up day (subbotnik) is taking place in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The funds earned from the spring community clean-up day will be channeled toward the creation of a permanent exhibition at the National History Museum of Belarus, which is currently under construction, as well as other related work.

Today citizens are encouraged to take part in planting greenery, beautification, and bringing to proper condition various facilities and areas of populated localities, landmark sites, historical and cultural values, memorial complexes, places of military and combat glory, and graves of soldiers and partisans dating back to the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. The clean-up day can also be held at workplaces.

The funds earned on the day of the nationwide community clean-up day, including at workplaces, will be transferred through district administrations and city administrations to oblast administrations and the Minsk city administration in accordance with the procedure established by the Finance Ministry.
