Belarus, Azerbaijan sign five agreements to boost cooperation

MINSK ( BelTA) – Belarus and Azerbaijan signed five documents following a meeting of the Belarus-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk on 2 June, BelTA has learned.

Following the meeting, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalya Petkevich and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov signed the final protocol of the Belarus-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

In addition, a cooperation program in physical culture and sport for 2026–2030 was signed between the Belarusian Sports Ministry and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The parties also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in statistics between the National Statistical Committee of Belarus and the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan. The document was signed by the heads of the statistical agencies. Chairwoman of the National Statistical Committee of Belarus Inna Medvedeva noted that the memorandum will provide a solid foundation for implementing joint projects and exchanging experience, and will contribute to the further development of the statistical systems of Belarus and Azerbaijan.

A cooperation program (road map) in healthcare for 2026–2027 was signed between the Belarus’ Ministry of Healthcare and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Healthcare.

A contract was also signed between the Pozhsnab enterprise and the Ganja Auto Plant for the supply of 11 vehicles and 10 fire tankers.
