Belarusian PM meets with Uzbekistan president

MINSK ( BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin met with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, BelTA has learned.

This is a continuation of the talks that took place during the prime minister’s visit to Uzbekistan in February of this year. At that time, the Belarusian head of government and the president of Uzbekistan discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation. Today’s meeting is an opportunity to synchronize positions and discuss the progress in implementing the agreements.

Belarus greatly values its close, friendly relations with Uzbekistan. Trade has been gaining momentum and joint projects are on track moving forward.

"Preparations are being finalized for the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan. The event promises to bring many new partnerships and agreements.

The Belarusian side is interested in the successful implementation of Uzbek projects in Belarus and is providing all necessary assistance. Uzbekistan Trading House and an Uzbek cuisine restaurant are expected to open in Minsk soon. In addition, Belarus and Uzbekistan are aiming to develop cooperative ties in the industrial sector. Cooperation on the modern livestock complexes modeled on Belarusian agricultural enterprises is seen as promising.
