MINSK (
BelTA) – A total of 260 products have entered race for the State Quality Mark 2026, Yelena Morgunova, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Standardization, told thew media, BelTA has learned.
Yelena Morgunova noted that the tradition of presenting quality marks has indeed got a new lease on life thanks to the head of state. “This year, we are holding the competition for the State Quality Mark for the third time. To date, we have received 260 applications from 150 enterprises across the Republic of Belarus. Expert commissions are currently at work, evaluating products according to five criteria that meet the 'pentagon' of the quality mark: safety, environmental friendliness, technological sophistication, innovation, and aesthetics,” she emphasized.
All relevant government bodies are to submit their expert evaluations in points by 1 August. After that, the secretariat of the competition commission will pick up the winners and present them to the National Certification Commission, which will meet in the autumn. The results for 2026 are expected to be finalized by October.
Yelena Morgunova also highlighted the consumer voting process. The Aesthetics criterion is the most important one because it is the consumer who casts the vote. "This is about how products are displayed on shelves, their visual appeal and ergonomics. Consumers choose the product that looks best to them, depending on its shelf display and packaging design. The voting will run until 26 July. Each consumer can choose only one product. To date, over 33,500 people have already voted, and we hope that by the end of July this number will grow even further,” she added.
