Belarusian President amends travel restriction database rules

MINSK ( BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a decree aimed at improving the operation of the database containing information on Belarusian citizens whose right to leave the country has been temporarily restricted, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

The decree was adopted to reflect recent amendments to legislation and take into account practical experience in applying the previous regulations.

In particular, the document expands the technical capabilities for information exchange between government bodies and strengthens the protection of data stored in the database.

Citizens can obtain information regarding any restrictions on their right to leave the country at any citizenship and migration office. The processing time for such requests has been reduced to one working day.
