Belarus to introduce new international road transport control procedure on 25 July

BelTA) – A new procedure for monitoring international road transport will take effect in Belarus on 25 July. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
The document was developed in furtherance of Presidential Decree No. 31 “On improving the activities of customs authorities” of 22 January 2026. In accordance with the decree, customs authorities have been vested with an additional function – monitoring international road transport at departmental customs clearance points. The procedure for carrying out such monitoring is determined by the government.
In particular, the resolution provides for amendments to the regulation on the procedure for road transport control at road checkpoints across the state border of Belarus, approved by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 71 of 27 January 2014. The regulation is supplemented with provisions defining the procedure for monitoring international road transport at departmental customs clearance points, including on the basis of permits issued in accordance with Belarus' international treaties on international road traffic.
The resolution comes into force on 25 July 2026.
