Belarus’ Finance Ministry outlines 2027 budget priorities

BelTA) – The priorities of the national budget for 2027 remain unchanged, Belarusian Finance Minister Vladislav Tatarinovich told the media following a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, where the drafts of the social and economic development forecast, monetary policy targets, and the national budget for 2027 were reviewed on 29 July, BelTA has learned.
“We proceeded from an assessment of the current situation regarding the execution of the 2026 national budget. Both we and the local financial authorities are actively working to ensure stable execution of both the national and local budgets. This is the foundation for stable financing of expenditures, which are primarily social in nature. The priorities for next year remain unchanged - the social sector, wage expenditures, and economic support,” the minister said.
The finance ministry expects that both revenues and expenditures for next year will grow by an average of about 6 %. “We will retain the main revenue sources, including value-added tax,” Vladislav Tatarinovich said.
The budget deficit is projected to be slightly lower than the current level.
Vladislav Tatarinovich noted that the economy is delivering positive growth parameters, with revenues from key sources remaining stable. He recalled that the 2026 budget was drawn up with a planned deficit, which is lower than the level projected for 2025.
“We clearly see all the sources that will be used to finance the deficit. For now, we are financing expenditures steadily,” the minister assured.
