Lukashenko approves Belarus-Zimbabwe draft agreement on customs cooperation

BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 291 on 24 August approving, as a basis for negotiations, a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Zimbabwe on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document defines the main forms of cooperation between the parties, the procedure for providing mutual assistance to ensure the proper application of customs legislation, organizing information exchange, and cooperation in preventing and investigating customs offenses.
The implementation of the agreement will help improve the efficiency of customs authorities in performing their tasks to protect the state’s economic interests.
The State Customs Committee of Belarus has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreement and sign it.
