Lukashenko highlights growing potential of Belarus-Russia partnership

BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko highlighted the recent growth of Belarus’ capabilities in cooperation with Russia during a meeting with Governor of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast Alexander Tsybulsky in Minsk on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
“For better or worse, our capabilities have grown recently in relation to Russia,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Today, we are forced to stand on the front lines together with you. There is no escaping this. The significance of Belarus is rising due to the events unfolding around us.”
“We know the role we must play in the world, and its success largely depends on our relations with the Russian Federation,” the president noted. “For now, everything is going well. We are managing both to preempt and deter our potential opponents here – let’s say opponents for now, not enemies. They realize we are alert. And even when we rest, we keep our eyes on what matters.”
