Belarus, Russia approve roadmap for cooperation on information exchange

BelTA) – The Belarusian State Committee for Standardization and RusAccreditation have approved a roadmap for cooperation on information exchange, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization.
Chairperson of the State Committee for Standardization Yelena Morgunova and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation of the Russian Federation (RusAccreditation) Dmitry Volvach signed an action plan (roadmap) to implement the memorandum of cooperation on information exchange.
“The roadmap includes about ten measures, which will result in the creation of a service for exchanging test and measurement reports issued in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. The service will allow the parties to obtain such information automatically when products are supplied. Test and measurement reports provide the basis for issuing certificates of conformity and declarations of conformity confirming the safety of goods when they are placed on the market,” the press service said.
According to Dmitry Volvach, implementation of the roadmap will significantly speed up joint work, take its transparency to an entirely new level, and enable both accredited entities and businesses to verify the validity and legality of documents more quickly. He also expressed the view that this would encourage other countries, primarily EAEU member states, to take an interest in similar approaches to digitalization.
Yelena Morgunova agreed with her counterpart, noting that all the roadmap measures had been thoroughly developed by specialists and had a sound practical basis.
“This guarantees that the tasks set to increase market transparency, both in the area of conformity assessment and overall, will be accomplished, and will also help prevent technical barriers from emerging in mutual trade,” she said.
Next week, a delegation of specialists from the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification (BelGISS) will visit Moscow to synchronize efforts to create the service for exchanging test and measurement reports.
