Belarus raises minimum subsistence budget

02.11.2026
MINSK ( BelTA) – Belarus has raised its minimum subsistence budget on 1 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry.

Labor and Social Protection Ministry Order No. 88 of 19 October 2026 sets the minimum subsistence budget for 1 November 2026 through 31 January 2027, both per capita on average and for the main social and demographic groups.

The average minimum subsistence budget per capita is set at Br535.70. The minimum subsistence budget is Br574.47 for the working-age population, Br381.27 for pensioners, Br332.62 for children under three, Br444.34 for children aged three to six, and Br525.44 for children aged six to 18.

Certain allowances and benefits pegged to the minimum subsistence budget rise proportionately: benefits for families raising children, pension supplements, allowances for caring for a person with Group I disability or a person who has reached the age of 80, and social pensions.

This is the fourth recalculation of the minimum subsistence budget in 2026. Since the start of the year, the figure has risen by 9.1 %, while inflation stood at 3.6 % over the first nine months of 2026. That means the purchasing power of people whose incomes are tied to the minimum subsistence budget has not merely held steady but grown.
