General Information
The National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus was established in accordance with Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of December 16, 2002 No. 609 "On the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus and on Introducing Changes and Additions into Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of October 30, 1998 No. 524".
The National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus is defined by the President of the Republic of Belarus as the main state information resource of the global Internet computer network in the field of law and legal informatization.
The basis of the information content of the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus is the legal information (texts of legal acts of the Republic of Belarus). This portal also contains scientific, practical, educational, reference and other information in the field of law and legal informatization.
The formation, maintenance and operation of the National Legal Internet Portal is carried out by the National Center of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus.
Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 573 of December 8, 2011 "On the Council of Legal and Judicial Activities under the President of the Republic of Belarus", provides that the Council of Legal and Judicial Activities under the President of the Republic of Belarus is responsible for reviewing the functioning, development and content of the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus.
The creation of the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus corresponds to world trends in the development of information technologies in the field of law, is aimed at increasing the efficiency of using modern information technologies in order to ensure the constitutional right of citizens to receive full and reliable legal information, to solve in practice the issues of cooperation between state bodies and other organizations and citizens in the legal sphere.
